The WONCA EMR Conference will be held from 29^th – 31^st of October 2026.

Venue:

Sofitel Cairo Downtown Nile Hotel, directly overlooking the Nile River, the hotel is in the center of Cairo. Countless historic and cultural attractions are within a short drive, including The Egyptian Museum and Cairo Opera House, just two kilometers away.

Language:

English will be the working language of The WONCA EMR Conference Congress

Accommodation:

There are 3 Official Hotels for the Participants to book in Sofitel Cairo Downtown Nile Hotel which is the Congress venue, Hilton Cairo Grand Nile Hotel (5 Stars), The Cleopatra Hotel 20 minutes away by Taxi to conference venue.

Participants of WONCA EMR Conference are advised to verify which entry visa they need for Egypt.

Many countries can have visa on arrival other countries can apply for e -visa. Other countries are required to apply physically at the Egyptian Consulate in their countries.

Issuing of Visa Support Letters:

For participants of countries that need visa to Egypt. Please kindly send request to the emails below. For invitation letter and an official visa support letter. These official letters will serve for facilitation of your visa application.

Lunches and Coffee Breaks during the conference Days will be organized for all registered participants on the 29-30-31 of October 2026 at the Sofitel Cairo Downtown Nile Hotel.

A Nile Cruise Dinner will be organized as an optional tour by the Travel Agency. It includes Dinner, Folkloric Shows, Music and Entertainment

Meet and assist at the airport and transfer to the Hotel from Airport:

There is a special “Meet & Assist” service arranged by the Travel Agency. This includes meeting you at the airport before Passport control (just outside the plane when you get off) helping you through immigration, and through bags collection and then transfer to the booked hotel. Weather:

The best time of year to visit Cairo is from October to April. During these months the city experiences its mildest and pleasant temperatures.

Temperature: October sees a pleasant shift in temperatures, with daytime highs ranging from 20⁰ C to 35⁰ C (68⁰ F to 95⁰ F)

Currency Exchange:

The currency used in Egypt is the Egyptian Pound. The commercial exchange rate is subject to change daily. Major international debit/credit cards including Visa and MasterCard are accepted in hotels in Egypt and in major department stores and restaurants.
